Victoria 2017 Christmas Special: Where, when to watch in UK, USA
The special this year is set to air on Christmas Day at 9:00 p.m. local time on ITV, which makes this one of the later Christmas Specials that you will get to see. Smartly, this special is airing after the conclusion of Call the Midwife over on BBC One, so you’re going to be able to check out that special before coming over and seeing what is happening within the Victoria world. Jenna Coleman is going to reprise her role of course as Queen Victoria — the special takes place on a notable Christmas while she is expecting her fourth child with Albert, and is trying to uncover the holiday spirit in the midst of a rather difficult time for her personally. You can read more news regarding the special over at the link here, but it should be a nice way in which to view these characters and also learn more about familiar holiday traditions.
Just be sure to settle in here for a rather long time to watch the show — thanks to commercial breaks, Victoria will run for around two hours on the night.
As for those of you in America … you’re going to have to wait a while longer to see the Special. This is one of those questions we’ve received frequently, but the problem with the episode is that it takes place after the conclusion of season 2 and US viewers haven’t seen any of that yet. The second season of Victoria airs on PBS starting on Sunday, January 14, and we are here to tell you that the special is going to air on Sunday, February 25. PBS is actually going to blow through season 2 rather quickly — they’ll air the first two episodes premiere week, and then episodes 3 and 4 together the following week on January 21. Clearly, someone over at Masterpiece wants viewers to be hooked on Victoria before the Super Bowl plus all of the other crazy competition that is going to be coming up in February.
