The Bachelor spotlight: Meet Caroline Lunny, former Miss Massachusetts

Caroline Lunny

Caroline Lunny is one of the contestants on Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season of The Bachelorand she seems to be this season’s former pageant contestant. We’re looking at a former Miss Massachusetts and Miss USA contestant — for those of you out there trying to connect her to Donald Trump, stop it. We did a conference call with Donald Trump and that doesn’t “connect” us to him. We’re pretty sure she didn’t compete for that reason.

While we have a feeling that the show will hype up her pageant history (they almost always do), there are a couple of interesting things about Caroline that make her someone to watch on this season. For one, she works as a realtor — the same job that Arie technically has in the real world these days. (Sure, he races cars, but not every day and not always for huge stacks of cash at this point.) Also, she now lives in a hotbed of Bachelor contestants in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Think in terms of Jennifer, Josiah, and Derek, who all hail from the area. (There was a casting call in Ft. Lauderdale earlier this year, hence the likely influx of contestants.)

Judging from her Instagram it’s fair to say that Caroline does a little modeling here and there — that could be something that awaits her more on the other side of the season. She’s 5’10” and therefore one of the taller contestants this year.

As for some other interesting things about her, Caroline’s bio does makes it pretty clear that she has a sense of humor (she’s got a plant named Phil), she likes Riverdale (it’s hard to be upset over that), and she’s apparently a fan of Wonder Woman and we expect to see that at least a few more times this season. Gal Gadot may be the unofficial sponsor of The Bachelor this season.

What are her chances with Arie? – We do think that she has a reasonably shot but, for the most part, pageant contestants don’t tend to win this show. They often get pigeonholed and are thought of, perhaps unfairly, as one-dimensional. We’re fairly confidence that this is going to be what happens with Arie.
