Should there be NCIS Funko Pop figures of Mark Harmon, cast?

Why aren’t there NCIS Funko Pop figures? Over the past few days we’ve thought a lot about the little vinyl figures — it is Christmas, after all, and these are the perfect Christmas gift. There are many people out there who collect them, keep them in the box, and then have a wall of achievement somewhere they they can show off to their friends and family. Meanwhile, there are others out there who actually taken them out of the box but still use them to decorate their place. We firmly consider ourselves a part of the latter camp — boxes are too clunky and we’re not exactly planning on selling them on eBay down the road.

There are Funko Pop figures for a lot of popular series out there, whether it be Game of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory, Outlander, Mr. Robot, and a number of other series. Yet, there aren’t any for NCIS even though it’s the most-watched television series in the world. It’s bizarre — you have to think that there are plenty of people out there who would be eager to get one of these figurines to put somewhere in their house! The reason why it probably hasn’t happened yet is because someone out there clearly does not consider the NCIS fandom to be the sort who would go out and buy some of these things en masse,. That is hardly the case! There is an audience who loves this show and some of the characters, whether it be some of the current group or cast members from the past.

Often Funko tends to release Pops in batches of five figures with two “special edition” ones thrown in there. With that, we’ve went ahead and assembled what are the perfect seven NCIS figures to be released out into the world.

Gibbs (Mark Harmon) – This is a given. Gibbs is the leading man and the driving force behind much of the story. He’s extremely recognizable and you could make a Pop out of him wearing his field jacket. It’s too bad Funko Pops don’t talk, since he could easily spout off some of his famous rules.

Abby (Pauley Perrette) – One of the other most recognizable characters out there. It’s easy to imagine Abby being the sort of character who could someday be worth hundreds online. She’s so distinctive — we actually think Abby the character would be a Funko collector and that only adds to the fun. If you are going to release them, though, don’t you want it to be before Perrette leaves the show?

McGee (Sean Murray) – A longtime cast member and a man with a big following. Visually a McGee Funko would probably look pretty similar to some of the other Funko Pops already out there but you can’t have a proper NCIS collection without him.

Ducky (David McCallum) – Another original cast member and someone who would make a really great, distinctive figure. We’re not sure that Ducky the character would really grasp what a Funko Pop figure was if you explained it to him — that’s really a part of the fun.

Vance (Rocky Carroll) – You have to have the boss, right? At this point the debate becomes whether you take Vance over one of the newer characters, but we’re going to side here with A) the person who has been on the show the longest and B) the best mustache.

Special Edition Funkos

Tony (Michael Weatherly) – He may not be with the show anymore but it’s hard to argue against having a Pop recreation of Michael Weatherly. Special edition Pops are some of the best way to tribute former cast members and celebrate the past.

Ziva (Cote de Pablo) – The same goes for Ziva. You can’t just ignore one of the show’s most-popular characters just because she hasn’t been on for a few years. Also, releasing this will probably fuel more fire for our #ZivaLives conspiracy theories.
