Chicago PD season 5 episode 11 spoilers: More of Burgess’ past revealed

So far, Chicago PD season 5 has done a pretty great job of wading through Burgess’ past — after all, we met a former partner of hers earlier this season! We just wish that this return came with a happier ending attached to it than the one we ultimately received.

Moving forward now one of the primary questions becomes this: What else is there to explore when it comes to Kim’s past? On Chicago PD season 5 episode 11 (which airs come Wednesday, January 10), one of the primary objectives seems to be learning a thing or two more in regards to how to treat criminal informants. Because of the relationship that she built with one earlier on in her career, she is going to be able to use that said person in order to aid her in the case.

The Chicago PD season 5 episode 11 synopsis below gives you a little more of a sense as to what is coming up:

01/10/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : BURGESS WORKS WITH HER FIRST CRIMINAL INFORMANT TO TRACK DOWN A RUTHLESS PIMP AND BREAK UP HIS PROSTITUTION RING. While trying to find the pimp, Intelligence stumbles on the women’s shelter where he’s scouting out girls. And Burgess (Marina Squerciati) moves the case forward with a series of confidential tips, but risks putting her informant in harm’s way. Also starring Jason Beghe, Jon Seda, Jesse Lee Soffer, Patrick John Flueger, Elias Koteas, LaRoyce Hawkins, Amy Morton and Tracy Spiridakos. Guest starring Gail Bean, Travis A. Knight and Andhy Mendez. TV-14 L, V

The fact that Burgess has kept the relationship with this informant is very much important; however, it’s now starting to become rather clear that the relationship could crumble by the end of the episode if Kim makes a mistake with them. It wouldn’t be the first time that someone who Kim cared about was caught in the crossfire; after all, earlier this season we saw something similar happen when it comes to her boyfriend at the time Matt Miller. She had to make a choice between her job and her relationship and she chose her job — as a result of that, this relationship now seems to be done (unfortunately for her).
