Bull season 2 episode 11 video: Is the TAC set up to lose?

When Bull season 2 episode 11 comes on the air on Tuesday, January 2, one thing is going to be clear almost right away: The TAC is going to find themselves in quite a bind. After all, they’ve got a really difficult case, and it feels on the surface as though Dr. Bull has given them an impossible case to work.

So why in the world has he done that? As it turns out, much of that seems to have to do with his own past coupled with the woman that he’s working on the case with. As Marissa explains in the sneak peek video below, this attorney is someone who hired Bull as an expert witness before anyone else would back when he was a forensic psychologist; therefore, he feels as though he owes her something more perhaps than he would anyone else.

As for the case itself, it’s extremely challenging since you’re talking about a robbery involving two people who, on the surface, both appear guilty. However, one of the robbers is a woman who was kidnapped many years before. Was she psychologically manipulated or trained over time to behave in a certain way? He is going to have to make the case to the jury that she was brainwashed and that’s not going to be easy. How do you prove something like that without having evidence of her mental progression over time? Bull may be the best in the business, but the TAC clearly knows just how difficult a task this is going to be. You can see that just from the expressions on their faces in this video. Maybe there’s also a little frustration since the TAC, more than likely, enjoys working on cases that they have a high likelihood of winning.

By the end of this episode we’ll almost certainly have a verdict, one of the sort where if Bull manages to succeed he’ll be considered a miracle worker. That’s in part what makes Bull as a series so much fun — this is a guy with a real propensity for making the impossible possible. No matter what sort of chaos he finds himself thrown into, he somehow manages to emerge from the other side (largely) in one piece.
