Law & Order: SVU season 19 episode 10 is coming your way on Wednesday, January 10, and all indications around it suggest this: If you love Kelli Giddish, you’re going to love this episode because she’s going to have a great storyline.

CarterMatt has for you the just-released Law & Order: SVU season 19 episode 10 synopsis, and it suggests that another haunting story will be at the center of the hour:

01/10/2018 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : When the SVU investigates a case involving two students in a special needs school, Rollins (Kelli Giddish) discovers that one child’s medical issues stem from a surprising source. Also starring Mariska Hargitay (Lt. Olivia Benson), Ice T (Det. Odafin Tutuola), Raul Esparza (ADA Rafael Barba) and Peter Scanavino (Det. Sonny Carisi). Guest starring Tamara Tunie (M.E. Melinda Warner), Carolyn McCormick (Dr. Elizabeth Olivet), Jenna Stern (Judge Elana Barth), Erin Wilhelmi (Mariel McLaughlin), Conor Tague (Cody Hill), Dendrie Taylor (Dawn McLaughlin) and George Sheffey (Lou McLaughlin).

This episode is entitled “Pathological,” and you may not be all that surprised about the return of Tunie — we mentioned that some of these familiar faces would be returning weeks ago! It’s very nice to have them back aboard the show, as it’s another reminder both of SVU history and the greater world that surrounds the unit. The focus has become a little more insular over the years and it’s nice to expand that outward here and there.

Meanwhile, having some sort of Rollins storyline is exciting just because we always enjoy seeing that character out in the field. This comes after seeing her and Carisi head down to West Virginia earlier this season in what was a particularly engaging episode. Who doesn’t love seeing the team outside of their element?

While we’ve said all of this about the Rollins storyline there is one caveat to remember: What is released in advance by NBC does not always end up in the actual edit. We learned that the hard way earlier this season after being excited for a Carisi plot point that was hyped but never actually appeared in the story.

It’s possible that the “Pathological” title is some sort of clue as to what’s coming in this episode (or the general theme of it), but that’s something we will have to figure out a little bit more over time.
