Survivor season 36 premiere date, hopes for CBS franchise

Survivor season 36

Want to know the Survivor season 36 return date leading into Wednesday night’s big finale episode? We’ve got that information for you within!

The good news, as it appears at the moment, is that you’re not going to have to wait all that long to see the show back on CBS with all-new episodes. Think Wednesday, February 28. That may seem like it’s pretty far down the road right now but this is actually an earlier premiere for the show than we’ve seen as of late. This probably means that there will be fewer two-hour episodes and we can see more of the show play out during real-time — something that we very much prefer. We like Survivor when it’s not so compressed!

The great thing about the future of Survivor is just being able to look forward to next season without being too overly concerned about whether or not the show’s going to be canceled. There’s really nothing to worry about there! The ratings for season 35, while down somewhat, rivaled Empire at times for #1 on the night in adults 18-49. This is a show that has been on the air well over 15 years now and it continues to deliver. Part of the strength of it is coming up with new themes and ideas — one of the latest ones is Survivor: Ghost Island, which you can see a little bit more of just by heading over to the link here right now.

Technically, there is no official Survivor season 37 just yet but you can go ahead and pencil that in. Beyond that, you’ve also certainly got a season 38 — you may as well go ahead and get the show to 40 seasons since the idea of ending on a stupid arbitrary number like 38 just feels ridiculous. If you’re Jeff Probst and CBS you want to end with a big bang and maybe a “legends” season where you bring back some of the greatest players to have ever taken place on the show. (We’re still holding out for that idea, even if it never happens.)
