The Droughtlander hiatus: Everything you need to know moving into Outlander season 4
The good news is this: Pending some last-minute surprise, the hiatus between seasons 3 and 4 of the Starz drama is going to be shorter than the one between seasons 2 and 3. While producers have spoken out about a shorter Droughtlander before, the first season 4 teaser last week was the first official confirmation we’ve had that the series will return in 2018. Maybe that will be September, or maybe it’ll be later on in the year. CarterMatt is leaning towards the former but there’s no sense in creating false hope.
Given that you’ve likely been accustomed to a whole lot of Outlander-related reading from us on Sundays, we wanted to use this space to round up some of the most important stories of the week pertaining to the show. If you missed some of these updates they’re absolutely worth checking out. Don’t worry — there are plenty more coming! We are still planning to offer up more news/discussion throughout the holidays.
The Outlander finale ratings + season 3 ratings analysis overall – While the finale ratings didn’t live up to some of our pre-show expectations, the season as a whole saw some healthy growth and has us even more excited for the season 4 ratings future.
Our season 4 ratings expectations – These two articles compliment each other perfectly, so if you like studying Outlander ratings we definitely consider this recommended tandem reading
Our comprehensive season 3 review – Here we go through some of what we loved about the past thirteen episodes plus a couple of things that we would conceivably change.
The latest Outlander season 4 filming update – Production wrapped up this week for 2017, so are you interested in learning how many episodes are officially in the can? We’ve got that plus a look at what’s ahead.
Finally, a new feature – Every week, we’re going to be looking at a major character on Outlander and speculating on some of their future. The spoilers from the book here are reasonably light, and this is offered up as a chance to get a new perspective and have a little bit of fun. We’re kicking things off here with a chat on Murtagh, but there are others coming with such people as Roger, Young Ian, Marsali, and of course Jamie and Claire. There are plenty of weeks (and months) in this upcoming Droughtlander so we’re going to have plenty of time to touch on different characters.
