The Bachelor spotlight: Nanny Bekah Martinez and her mystery age

Bekah Martinez

There’s one thing that immediately stands out to CarterMatt about Bekah Martinez as a contestant on The Bachelor with Arie Luyendyk Jr. — her age isn’t listed. She is the only contestant this season without that information in her bio.

Why in the world do that? It’s obvious that this is going to be a major part of her story this season and our assumption is this: It probably doesn’t matter to her. It’s either that or she doesn’t want it to get in the way of her time with Arie. Based on the photo of her and her bio she looks very young and could be one of the youngest people this season. While that doesn’t mean she will be an early exit, very rarely do the youngest contestants win. That’s especially true for a guy like Arie in his mid-thirties.

If there’s one thing that Bekah and Arie do probably have in common, though, it’s an affinity for living on the edge. More so than some of the other people this season Bekah seems to enjoy adventure. She’s a rock climber and, based on her Instagram she’s unafraid to do some other daring things like cliff-diving. Bekah is not the person you give the extreme date to this season. She’d probably ace that even while IndyCar driver Arie is freaking out about it.

Bekah has a very specific attitude — you can tell she loves being an independent thinker and following the beat of her own drum. That suggests she’ll have some trouble in the house since, from her hair to her vibe, she’s different from most of the other women. She works as a nanny, but it seems as though she also teaches art. She’s a character on this show, but that doesn’t necessarily bode well once you get around to the top six or so.

Does Bekah have a chance with Arie? – She’s the sort of contestant who will stand out early and probably last a few episodes — yet, it’s hard to imagine her sticking around past episode 4. She’s the sort of “unique” contestant who is brought on to mix things up and carry with her a point of view that’s different from many of the other people on the show. We see her not gelling well with some of the women and eventually not gelling with Arie. It wouldn’t be a shock if she either leaves or gets sent home on one of the group dates. She’ll probably get an invite to do Bachelor in Paradise but, given that aforementioned free-thinker lifestyle, we’re not 100% sure she would take it.
