Saturday Night Live: Pete Davidson gets a Hillary Clinton tattoo — and she likes it

Hillary Clinton tattoo

Out of all the stories out there today, this one about Pete Davidson and a Hillary Clinton tattoo has to be one of the greatest. Just take politics out of it — the whole thing is just silly and amusing. It’s easy to smile about it.

The fun began earlier this week when the Saturday Night Live cast member created an Instagram account and used his first photo to proclaim that he recently got ink featuring the former First Lady and Presidential candidate. Why? He explained that she is his hero and — well, he just wanted to. This doesn’t surprise us, given that Davidson joked earlier this season that he got a direwolf tattoo without actually seeing Game of Thrones.

Where things get a little bit more surprising is that Hillary actually responded to this. Rather than forcing you to search through all of the comments in order to find it, here is what she had to say:

“Thanks, [Pete]. This makes it significantly less awkward that I’ve had a Pete Davidson tattoo for years.

“But seriously, I’m honored. Merry Christmas my friend.”

It’s a pretty amazing response that shows that Clinton has a good sense of humor about all of this. She and Pete likely have met before on SNL, given that she made a cameo back during the Presidential election. We don’t necessarily think that the two of them spent a ton of time together, but that was enough of a greeting for Hillary to remember who he is.

(Of course, we don’t recommend any of the other comments following Hillary’s response to a tattoo — they’re the reminder that this is 2017 and someone a silly Instagram photo somehow turns into a political argument and people screaming about each other.)

We’re secretly hoping that this is all leading to an epic Weekend Update segment tonight featuring Davidson with a Hillary Clinton cameo … but that’s probably a pipe dream. Probably. For now, this is at least a really fun little story leading into tonight’s new episode hosted by Kevin Hart — you can preview that by visiting the story here.
