The Brave will return in 2018 one week later

Fans of NBC’s The Brave will have to wait one week longer for the freshmen series to return. NBC recently released a statement announcing that the show will return January 8^th instead of January 1^st.

An official reason hasn’t been announced as to why it’s coming back on the 8th instead of the 1st, but we suspect NBC might be making this move in order to attract more viewers. January and February are infamous for their decrease in viewership (especially this upcoming February where everyone will be competing with the winter Olympics), and The Brave is on the bubble of whether or not it will be renewed. By moving the series’ return date it allows viewers to return to their normal routines, after all January 1^st is New Year’s Day and many people are still in the holiday mindset. By January 8^th, however, viewers have returned to their normal schedules and that includes their normal television watching schedules.

It’s a smart move by NBC and it shows that it isn’t ready to give up on the Mike Vogel/Anne Heche series, but instead it shows that it wants to help it succeed. We love this show and would hate to see it cancelled because it is unlike any other series out there right now. This show centers around a highly secretive military group tasked with accomplishing almost impossible missions and so far, we have been entertained by every episode. It’s had some great stories to tell and sub-stories that made us look forward every week.

The only disappointing part is that the show is in the same time-slot as ABC’s The Good Doctor, which has been very successful in winning its time-slot almost every week. Don’t get us wrong, we love The Good Doctor and are happy it is doing well; ABC needed a show to fill the 10 o’clock time-slot previously occupied by Castle. Now it’s basically NBC’s turn to fill that time-slot with a strong show and we believe they have, it’s just more viewers need to be aware of it and check it out. If the series can attract new fans who will come back week after week, The Brave will up its chances in getting renewed by NBC.

When it does come back, CarterMatt cannot wait to see how the group will handle Jaz’s kidnapping and what they will do to save her. You don’t want to miss this.
