Chicago Med season 3 episode 5 promo: Will Halstead in danger

While you may have to wait until Tuesday, January 2 in order to see Chicago Med season 3 episode 5, you don’t have to wait to see what’s coming up on that episode. CarterMatt is here to hook you up with some scoop!

Just in case you wanted to spend your holiday break worrying over the fate of one Dr. Will Halstead, the new promo below (courtesy of NBC) renders that possible. In the video you can see the doctor in crisis after a dangerous outbreak starts to spread throughout the hospital. At first, the doctors and nurses are going to do what they can in order to keep it from spreading to some other patients. However, at one point in the episode Will himself is going to find himself in danger. He can’t feel his leg, and soon after that he finds himself stuck in a hospital bed. The promo ends with Natalie concerned over him and for good reason. It appears on the surface like he’s going to be able to make it through this in one piece, but there could be some struggles along the way.

The most compelling part of this story to us is going to be seeing the role reversal as Nick Gehlfuss has to transition over from being a doctor to being one of the people sitting in a hospital bed hoping to recover. Is he really going to be able to relinquish control to some of the people around him? We imagine that this is not going to be easy for him to. He could struggle with the idea of other people taking care of him or even knowing the right way to do so — even if he is dating another doctor! It’s hard for someone like him to turn off that part of his brain.

Chicago Med season 3 will be airing new episodes throughout the month of January, so consider this a foundation to a number of other interesting stories that will be coming in the weeks ahead. We’re hoping to have more updates and insights on some of these episodes soon, but for now, worrying about Will’s health may be enough to tide you over.
