Blue Bloods season 8 spoilers: Who’s facing a tough choice?
To help ease the waiting for some more new installments coming up on CBS in the new year, we do come bearing some interesting news! According to a new report from TVLine, Danny is going to be facing a difficult career decision around the time we make it to the 15th episode of the season.
What could that be? We foresee a couple of interesting options.
1. Facing a promotion – Given that Danny has been a detective since the early days of the show it’s very well possible that he will get a chance to take on a different role in the NYPD … provided that he wants it. Could he embrace change? It might be a similar storyline to what Jamie had last season, when he had a chance to move away from being a uniform cop if that is something that he really wanted to do. Jamie decided that he likes where he is, but there’s no guarantee that Danny will do the same.
2. A safer career – We also wonder if Danny could decide that he wants to do something career-wise to put him and his family in a place where they can breathe a little easier. Is being out on the street risking your life really worth it for him at this point when he’s lost so much? This is a question that many cops have to wonder and it’s clear already that Danny has enemies — he lost his home at the end of last season because of it. He could be the one who looks for reassignment out of a desire to put his family in a different place and get himself out of harm’s way. After losing Linda we already saw him contemplating retirement; this could come roaring back in a different form.
No matter if this storyline is about either of the things above or something different altogether, we do still have a feeling that it will be just as compelling as anything else pertaining to Blue Bloods. The series returns with new episodes in January.
