SWAT episode 8 preview: Christmas with Shemar Moore

When SWAT episode 8 airs on CBS in one week’s time, you’re going to have a chance to get into the holiday spirit! We weren’t sure that we would get a chance to get a Christmas episode this season but we’re more than happy to check it out.

While you are going to see a holiday celebration on the show, it definitely seems as though we’re going to get a lot of story beyond just mistletoe and ugly sweaters. CarterMatt has for you in full the SWAT episode 8 synopsis below:

“Miracle” – Hondo and the SWAT team are forced to work over their Christmas vacation when a drug cartel is out for blood after their cache of gold bars is stolen. Also, Jessica draws the attention of Michael Plank (Peter Facinelli), president of the Police Commission, when she approaches him with her ideas on how to improve the SWAT division, on S.W.A.T., Thursday, Dec. 21 (10:00-11:00, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

When it comes to notable guest stars getting Facinelli on board is a nice touch — it’s also going to be interesting to see what sort of personality he brings to this role. This episode could go a long way for describing the hierarchy of the LAPD, or at least the version of the department that SWAT is bringing to the table. This is also the sort of role that you could see it play a number of times before the end of the season — at least if we’re lucky.

Unfortunately, SWAT episode 8 is going t be the last episode of the show that you end up seeing in the calendar year — though we’re pretty darn lucky to even get that many because of when the show first premiered this fall. More than half of the season is still to come, given that the network already handed down a full season of the show. Beyond that, we’re feeling pretty good that we’ll get to see more of Shemar Moore and the rest of the cast in a SWAT season 2 … provided that the ratings continue at their present pace. CBS is proving more that familiar franchises with a twist is something that they do rather well.
