Timeless season 2 photo: The Time Team is back in action!
If you look below (via TVLine), you can see the first image from the upcoming premiere episode entitled “The War to End All Wars.” This episode is set during the era of World War I, which makes sense given the recurring character you’re going to meet in this episode in Nicholas Keynes (Michael Rady). As CarterMatt previously reported, this is a man who, (after being injured in battle) finds himself cared for by Emma (Annie Wersching) and Carol (Susanna Thompson). Given the allegiance of these two women as revealed at the end of the first season, there is a serious reason to be concerned about what these two are up to.
Also, there is a definite reason to think that there is something more going on with Keynes than you would first assume. Emma and Carol don’t strike us as the sort of characters who are going to do good just for the sake of doing good. There’s a reasonably good chance that they are operating with some sort of hidden motive that should come to fruition fairly quickly.
The biggest mystery for most Timeless fans is not so much deciphering the motives of Emma or Carol; instead, it’s just about learning when season 2 will return. The series isn’t on NBC’s midseason schedule, not that this should be much of a surprise to anyone given that filming did not begin until pretty late in the fall. Current projections are that the show will return either in the spring or summer, depending on what some of NBC’s needs are as a network. With them having a three-hour programming block opening after the NFL season is over on Sundays, that is one possible landing spot if the show does happen to make it onto the air before the summer.
No matter when it comes on, our main hope is just that viewers find it and get a chance to check it out live. This show is a lot of fun and was already canceled – then un-canceled, so they need the viewers to tune in live and show the network that un-canceling the show was the right move to make.
