The Librarians season 4 episode 3 preview: Another double dose

The Librarians season 4 episode 3 is coming on TNT in one week’s time, but it’s not the only episode that is airing! There are two installments coming back to back as this show continues its oft-unusual airing structure. While we’re not sure The Librarians is the only show on US television who we can make a Doctor Who comparison to, it’s certainly one of them — it’s strange, imaginative, and that’s a part of the fun. It’s also probably one of the only shows that can withstand airing two episodes back to back on the week of Christmas. It makes it into an event that you can look forward to seeing for most of the year.

Below, we’ve got some more details as to better prepare you for the next two episodes.

Season 4 episode 3, “…And the Christmas Thief” – “When Santa takes Flynn, Baird and Jenkins on his first vacation in centuries, he leaves his beloved sleigh in the care of the Librarians. But when Ezekiel’s career criminal mother steals the magic door, they must use the sleigh to save her, as well as Christmas itself, from Santa’s Grinch of a brother, the Patron Saint of Thieves.”

Season 4 episode 4, “…And the Silver Screen” – “When Flynn and Baird are sucked into Baird’s favorite classic Film Noir movie, the Librarians are drawn into the world of movie magic – literally – where they’ll need to perfect their lassoing skills, sharpshooting, and snappy dialogue if they’re going to make it out alive.”

The promo below doesn’t really give you much of a sense as to what’s coming in 4×04, but it does give you some holiday cheer — or at least holiday cheer for thieves. The episode looks like a hoot, and the perfect thing to check out a handful of days before Christmas. While the second episode isn’t so themed, who doesn’t love a good noir? There should be plenty of entertainment here in its own right.

We imagine that many out there are going to be interested in checking out the ratings for the first two episodes of the season — we’ll have those tomorrow. Hopefully, most of the loyal viewers of the show stuck around from the end of last season.
