Want to get a first look at what is coming on Nashville season 6 episode 1 — and episode 2 to go along with it? CMT is going to be kicking off the new year with some big stories that are going to kick off the final season. Expect a lot of emotion, some big character moments, and also a few new faces here and there. Hopefully some of these characters will find happiness but, if we’re optimistic, we’re not all that optimistic that they will.

Take a look below at some of what you can expect to see coming.

EPISODE 601: NEW STRINGS (Thursday, January 4 at 9p.m. ET/PT) After a public meltdown, Juliette seeks to change her life from an unlikely source. Scarlett and Maddie take a trip. Maddie meets Jonah Ford, a famous pop star. Scarlett struggles to find herself. Will coaches Gunnar. Deacon deals with loneliness. (Source: SpoilerTV.)

EPISODE 602: SECOND CHANCES (Thursday, January 11 9p.m. ET/PT) Deacon goes on a date with a familiar face. Juliette dives into a self-help movement. Will and Gunnar invite Avery to perform with them. Scarlett is reminded how her career has had a positive influence on fans. Daphne reaches out to Jake. (Source: SpoilerTV.)

Within these stories there are a number of different things that do excite us, including getting a chance to see Juliette and Scarlett actually trying to get better in a healthier way. Meanwhile, it’s going to be helpful to see Deacon struggle now with finding what he wants his life to look like — he’s had time to process Rayna being gone and while he still loves her, he has to figure out a way to move forward. This should be in part what this episode is about. We’ll see him struggle with this, but hopefully over the episodes beyond it find some element of happiness. As we’ve come to expect within the Nashville world, this is probably not going to be something that comes altogether easy.
