Looking for the Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 5 episode 12 return date? Unfortunately, you may be waiting for a while.

Following tonight’s two-hour fall finale there is, unfortunately, no new episode airing until the spring. The show will be coming on the other side of the Winter Olympics, and we know that the series has set up plenty of big storylines that it can explore.

For more than a week now, one of the biggest ones has been Rosa deciding to come out as bisexual. It was a big, emotional reveal for the character that gives her so much interesting content to explore — even beyond just what took place tonight with her parents.

As for some of the other storylines we’re certainly eager to get more of Gina after her absence for some of the season (due in part to Chelsea Peretti’s real-life pregnancy). Beyond that, we are worried about Captain Holt and his family after some of the threats that were handed down at one point in this episode. If you love Brooklyn Nine-Nine, you have to love much of the story that has been left on the table for the time being.

The one thing that does feel clear moving into the second half of season 5 is that Brooklyn Nine-Nine probably does need to resolve the vast majority of its storylines. After all, the ratings for this season are down by a pretty wide margin versus season 4, and that is definitely enough of a reason to think that the show will be in some danger. Remember that there were questions as to whether or not it would get a renewal this time around — we’re more than happy that it did but it was absolutely rather touch-and-go for a little while.
