The Blacklist season 5 episode 9: Famke Janssen returns as Scottie

The Blacklist season 5 episode 9 is looking to be important for a wide array of different reasons, starting with it being the winter premiere. It’s been a long time since the show was on the air and for one Elizabeth Keen, it’s been an even longer time since she was out in the world. Many months have transpired since the death of her husband Tom, and she’s been in a coma that whole time. She doesn’t know what transpired with many of her friends and loved ones so a big part of this upcoming episode is going to be a process of discovery. She will determine more of what she wants her life to be, and it could be a very different story than anything that we’ve seen before. It could also be one of the best performances we’ve seen to date for Megan Boone on the series.

01/03/2018 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Wednesday) : WINTER PREMIERE. Liz (Megan Boone) abandons her old life and seeks out a fresh start in a place where no one knows her history, her name, or the depths of her grief. When an unexpected threat finds her, she is forced to draw on her emotional and physical strength in a brutal fight for survival. Famke Janssen guest stars.

For those of you who did enjoy The Blacklist: Redemption, it’s possible that this could offer up a little bit of closure as to what happened on that show. The story of Tom’s parents Scottie and Howard Hargrave were a lot more complicated than anyone first thought it would be, and we certainly hope that Terry O’Quinn will be reprising his role as Howard at some point in the future. After all, he was set up as a potential big bad at the end Redemption. We don’t need The Blacklist proper to dive back into all of that completely, but with Tom’s death it does seem right to explore things to a certain extent.
