Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: John Bradley on ever-changing nature

Game of Thrones season 8 is going to premiere on HBO in 2019 presumably, and there could be more surprises in store than you’d first think. We mean this especially in terms of some of the character storylines that are being plotted out for what’s coming on the show next — you may think you know where people like Daenerys, Jon Snow, and Cersei are going to be, but you could be wrong. The show looks to cover a lot of ground in these final six episodes, and one of the main goals could be still throwing viewers for a loop.

For a little more insight into how this could happen, you don’t have to look any further than seeing what John Bradley (who plays Samwell Tarly) had to say to TV Guide:

“These characters are so detailed and so rich, you can feel that you’ve got a pretty good handle on your character. You can predict how your character will react in any given circumstance, but when you place these characters in a new environment, it’s always putting them under a microscope, and you constantly have to reexamine your character. Each of the characters this year is placed in a completely alien environment at some point in the season that they’ve never been placed in before. The thrill is seeing how they react to it and how they respond… This season, I think, more than any other is stretching these characters.”

Basically, you can see characters in different places and with different people. To us, the most exciting thing about this is the idea of pairing people up who have never worked together before; this is one of the things that was the most entertaining about season 7. After so much anticipation, we were almost giddy seeing the likes of Daenerys and Jon together. These pairings should be more than just fan service, though; they should also push the story forward in some necessary ways. The producers will have to move quickly, but we saw during season 7 that they are more than capable of doing just that.
