The Flash season 4: What do we want to see when the show returns?

Flash new tonight

The Flash season 4 is, alas, not new tonight on The CW — and the same will be said every week from now until Tuesday, January 16. That’s a long break for the series, but a necessary one to ensure that the show lasts the bulk of the season.

While we do await the eventual return of the series, though, there are still a number of things we have to look forward to — and a number of expectations for the future. Consider the following four things at the top of our most-wanted list — there are quite a number of episodes still to go, and with that there is plenty of room for the series to explore a wide array of different conflicts and situations.

1. Explore the new Thinker – We’re now in a situation where Clifford DeVoe is inhabiting the body of Dominic Lance, and that is incredibly interesting mostly in that we don’t know what the body swap means in terms of his abilities and the threat that he poses to Barry and the rest of the team. He’s certainly far more dangerous given that he’s now able to move about of his own volition.

2. Get Barry out of police custody – This is a given. It’s a much bigger challenge for Barry than one would first think, given that if he uses his powers it’ll be automatically clear to everyone that he is a meta-human. He has to find a way to clear his name with the help of his friends and not with any abilities in order to keep his cover.

3. Bring back the “waitress” – This character first turned up at Barry and Iris’ attempted wedding and the inclination is clear that this is probably some sort of relative from the future, whether it be their daughter or some descendant down the line. We shouldn’t have to wait forever to get more scoop on this.

4. Redemption of Ralph Dibny – We appreciate the fact that he’s different from everyone else on the show, but is there a way to make him that without him being such a perv? We know there are many people out there like Ralph, but this is not the sort of show to represent that.
