Golden Globes 2018: More reaction to the nominations
We were also happy to see that both Stranger Things and This Is Us were nominated. Both of these shows also showed the brilliance we saw in their first season that remains live and well in the second. All three of these shows mentioned made it look effortless. In the end, we are hoping The Crown will take home the prize for the second-straight year.
In the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama, we are obviously thrilled to see Claire Foy nominated for The Crown. However, we were even more excited to see Caitriona Balfe included in the category! Her work during Season 3 of Outlander has been excellent. She’s shown how versatile she can be and how no matter the situation Balfe can take it and turn it into a great performance. We wish that both of these actresses could win the golden globe.
For Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Drama we thought the nominees were exactly what we had expected, however, Freddie Highmore’s nomination was great to see. His work on The Good Doctor is exceptional and deserves to be recognized. He’s a very talented actor. We’ve seen it during Bates Motel, and now everyone is seeing just how versatile he is.
In the comedy categories, we are thrilled beyond words to see The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy. This new show premiered a little more than a week ago and we completely binged watched it. It was amazing and very Amy Sherman-Palladino. We are completely in love with the show and hope the HFPA is too. Also it’s great to see Will & Grace back in the running for best comedy. The reboot, in our opinion, is funnier than the original and has delivered everything it promised.
In the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Musical, or Comedy we were happy to see Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) and Alison Brie (GLOW) nominated for their work on their respective shows. They both are relatively new to the awards scene, in regards to being nominated, and we think that they definitely deserved it.
We’d like to congratulate all the nominees for their nominations. The ones mentioned above are just the ones at first glance that we were thrilled to see recognized.
