The Originals series finale wrap party held; the end is near

Originals season 5

The Originals series finale has been filming, and we’re getting one of our first signs that the end is near for the CW series.

In a post on Twitter today, executive producer / co-showrunner Julie Plec confirmed that the wrap party was held this weekend — and it certainly seems as though quite a bit of fun was had by all. It’s definitely a much-deserved celebration given that five seasons of hard work went into making this show and creating what was a crazy, fun, and endlessly entertaining story. It wasn’t hard to get addicted on The Originals and we certainly hope that the finale lives up to some of the hype.

One of the thing that is known, thanks to some other social-media posts, is that we’re going to get to see both Leah Pipes (Cami) and Sebastian Roche (Mikael) back for the final chapter of the series. It’s possible that even more familiar faces are going to surface, especially since this episode is going to be the culmination of both this show and the one it first stemmed from in The Vampire Diaries.

The Originals season 5, unfortunately, is not going to premiere until some point in the spring. For the time being the network has not confirmed the start date, but we hope that this is something coming your way in the near future.

Is The Originals actually done filming?

It may be confusing, but the wrap party happening doesn’t necessarily mean that filming is done. Signs point to there being still a little bit of work left to do in the Atlanta area on the show. The bulk of it seems to be done, though, and you want to obviously do the wrap party at a time when the majority of the cast and crew are still around. Everyone should have a chance to celebrate the show — after all, hasn’t it been a heck of a great run?
