Tobias Menzies could return for Outlander season 4
Now … well, let’s just say there’s a chance Menzies could come back in some shape or form, much to our great surprise and excitement. This is something showrunner Ronald D. Moore confirmed to Deadline in a new postmortem of the season:
“I think there’s a strong possibility we’re going to [bring him back somehow]. We’ve been talking about doing some way of getting Tobias back in the show in Season 4, at least for some flashbacks, or some other kinds of sequences. So nothing’s been committed yet, but yeah that’s on the table.”
If there’s a great reason to bring Tobias back we certainly wouldn’t be opposed to it — it’s another reminder of the journey from start to finish of Claire Fraser. He was there in the pilot, and our dream always was to find a way to bring him back for the series finale (whenever that may be, hopefully not soon) as a way to help ensure that the series comes full-circle. It’s going to be hard for Outlander to find a villain more terrible than Black Jack … though we’re sure they will try. Frank, meanwhile, is always an interesting source of discussion. He did help raise Brianna, and just from that vantage point alone he will always be important to Claire.
Also, if Menzies were to turn up for an episode or two down the line, that certainly wouldn’t stop him from being able to find another role for himself elsewhere. It’s just something that he could pop in and do in Scotland for a few days. It’d be a short reunion, but more than likely a happy one with Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and the rest of the cast and crew.
New episodes of Outlander are set to air in 2018 — if you didn’t see the first teaser promo for it, you can do so over at the link here! For more coverage of the finale this weekend, including a review of the episode, be sure to visit the link here.

Great!!! i cant wait to see him again. Im so glad that they didnt kill Murtag, him, Frank/Jack Randall were my favourite characters. it´s a pity the writer killed Frank in the books, he should have divorced Claire and travel through time like Bree and Roger did. Helping them, meeting Jaime ( would be so damn funny!) and finding another love interest. He deserved that so please, let us see his flashbacks,

Well, for heavens’ sake, he pops up in flashback in every one of the later books when it is useful to the story, so why wouldn’t he do so in the series?

OMG why can’t they let this character go? I am so sick of Frank! Can we move on please! A second of flashback is tolerable, but please don’t ruin another book by focusing on Frank at the expense of the Jamie and Claire story. The author gave us enough to tell the story. Added Frank means less Jamie and I for one would absolutely hate that!

Because he is a great character and maybe the best actor of the show. This have nothing to do about a love triangle or anything like that. There are many other characters beside Claire and Jaime. People like you are annoying

People like you are annoying, too. I am not a fan of Tobias. I do not believe he is the best actor. I believe he changed the character to fit his version and I disagreed with it completely. I am sick of both of his characters and that is what i expressed here. Sorry if you do not agree. I wish Outlander would appreciate more the two lead characters that they have, particularly Sam Heughan who is the glue that holds this show together and also has brought in many fans and keeps them coming back. I am sick of the show’s obsession with Tobias and specifically Frank.

well, he was nominated to the best actor and his performance was even chosen as the best of the year
Fit his version? its not his version, its no like he could change the script or something like that.
Relax, Claire And Jaime are the main characters, that doesnt mean he isnt also a great one. If you were so sure about Jaime being “the glue that holds this show together” (maybe you are too obsessed) you wouldnt care so much about a few flashbacks of Frank ,

Me? you are the one who is manking this some king of Frank vs Jaime for no reason. Im sorry you think that way, but i love Menzies! he is one of my fav actors, and i admire the way he portrayed two characters who were complete opposites, to the point we hate and fear Jack but we felt empathy for Frank. Im going to miss them a lot. and at best, we will see him during 10-15 minutes of flashbacks. Jaime will be there every single episode of next season.
So, please, just allow the people who like Menzies to enjoy him a little longer

Dont be absurd. Murtag died in the books but he is alive in the show, are you complaining because he is another character who will take time from Claire and Jaime? I dont care about Claire love story at all. Frank has raised Bree, he has been an important part of Claire´s life (that´s why she will always wear his ring) and there are flashbacks of him during the books and he is dead so isnt like he could even be a threat to Jaime . Get over it..

His story is done and I wish to goodness the television series would see that. The story now involves Jamie and Claire and their story in America. Bree and Roger and their story in America. I love many of the characters in the books and the television show. I just don’t love Frank and never have and was beyond happy that he died. Wish they would leave him dead.

wow, now you sound a little irrational… happy that he died? what has he done that was so terrible? Beside of the fact that he was Claire´s first husband of course. He just did the best he could in the strangest situtation. His story isnt finished yet, in the books there are many scenes about Frank, he raised Bree, and teached how to survive in that World, he left some clues in order to allow Claire to find Jaime again and even Jaime said that he was a better man than him after Roger told him about Frank´s letter. So stay calm and say Frank will be back :-)
