Golden Globes 2018: Where, when to live stream nomination announcement
If you want to watch the 2018 Golden Globe nominations — and to get either excited or heartbroken about some of what you hear — rest assured that we’ve got the hookup for you here! The live stream for the nomination announcement begins precisely at the aforementioned time, and you can watch it over on the official site for the Globes. The ceremony will give you a sense as to most, if not all, of the nominations across all of TV and film.
Here’s a fun little story about why the announcement is done so early — it was originally designed so that morning shows and news-wires could spread the news throughout the day. Before the internet, this was the only way that everyone could find out over the course of 24 hours about all of the nominations. In 2017, that’s a little less necessary given that there are so many different ways in which people can find out news. All they have to do is go online — such as to CarterMatt! — and get all of the news.
The Golden Globes are going to be held on Sunday, January 7 in Los Angeles, and they will be hosted this year by none other Late Night host Seth Meyers. He follows such other hosts as Jimmy Fallon, Ricky Gervais (who hosted the show several times), and the one-two punch of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. It’s a fun show, one that is a little lighter in tone and more ridiculous as a whole than some of the other ones that are out there.
