Sense8 series finale video: Cast discusses filming send-off TV movie

Sense8 series finale

The Sense8 series finale is coming your way in the form of a standalone special coming at some point next year. We’ve got the first tease at what the experience was like for the cast saying goodbye.

In the video below, many of the Netflix series’ cast members touch on what the experience was like going back to this show, which had previously been canceled by the streaming provider, in order to offer up closure to their stories. This was something that was much-needed for the characters, but it was also equally desired for the fans. Sense8 is not the ordinary show that you just watch and forget about it a day or two later. It’s a movement. There is an emotional attachment to the material here that is different than most other shows out there. Sense8 is inclusive, it’s thought-provoking, and it’s at times celebratory. It’s incredibly unique, and the only thing that may have hurt its commercial success is that it’s probably a little bit before its time. A few years from now the show probably would have succeeded in a climate that was even more aware of some of the messages it was trying to bring across.

The majority of this video serves mostly as a thank-you to fans who were responsible by and large in getting the show back in the first place. No matter where the cast and crew went during production they always had some sort of fan presence there. This is a global show and there were many people who wanted to constantly be a part of that experience all over the world. We just hope that the team behind the scenes came up with a way to tie together most of these storylines in the limited amount of time that is there. Two hours, give or take, doesn’t offer up a whole lot of story; yet, it’s so much better than the zero hours we were going to get before the last-ditch renewal came about.

What do you want to see on the Sense8 series finale and does this promo make you all the more excited to see what’s coming up? Be sure to share in the comments below right now! Hopefully, we’ll have more news about this special very soon.
