Gotham season 4 episode 12 trailer: See Peyton List’s Poison Ivy, more Jerome
The last time that you saw the Ivy Pepper character, she was downing a bunch of potions in order to become more powerful; when you see her again, she will be older (once again) and far more in control of some of her powers. This accelerated version of the character seems to be in part a move for the show to get the full version of Ivy on the show before it ends — given that there is no guarantee that the show will be back for a season 5.
Now that we’ve said that, is it absolutely creepy that Ivy is planting a kiss on Bruce Wayne? Absolutely, but we have to feel like that’s kind of the point. We don’t exactly expect a villain to do normal, non-creepy things.
As for what else is coming in this trailer, we’ve got one of our best teases at the return of Cameron Monaghan as Jerome … who Gotham is setting up as the Joker perhaps more so than they have to date. We don’t necessarily think that this is any confirmation one way or another, but this is clearly what Gotham wants you to think about the character. It seems like his storyline this time is going to feature him either working for or against Penguin — maybe the two are going to have an alliance at one point but we definitely don’t think that it’s one that is going to last. Jerome isn’t exactly the sort of character who is known for making friends and then keeping them.
Hopefully, at some point over the next couple of months Fox will make it a little clearer precisely what the Gotham return date is — for now, it’s pure ambiguity beyond spring.
