NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 10 video: Pride puts it all on the line
Just when you think that the Mayor Hamilton story is over, and over the course of this upcoming episode the character is going to come roaring back in a big way. This is a man who may have an opportunity to get out of prison and that is a pretty darn scary endeavor for Pride. He went through so much in order to ensure that this man was put away once and for all, and we have to imagine that it’s somewhat devastating for him to be back in a position where he has to stop this guy from continuing to cause chaos in the real world again.
The circumstances this time around are a little bit different: There is apparently a secret partner out there, someone who was a big part of that Clearwater case last season who hasn’t quite been outed yet. It is going to be the responsibility of Pride alongside the remainder of his team to figure out precisely who this person is, and then beyond that find a way to bring them to justice before Hamilton finds a way to play what is effectively a get-out-of-jail free card. That’s clearly something that he wants to throw out there and Pride doesn’t want to see him get away with it.
So how far will Scott Bakula’s character go? That is at the moment one of the big questions you are left to wonder in this episode and for good reason — Pride nearly lost his entire career the last time that he went after Mayor Hamilton and there some risks that he’s taking in chasing him down again. If we were Pride we would try to delegate here in order to get out of harm’s way; we’re just not sure that he has the self-control to do that given how personal this case is to him.

So Pride’s going rogue again. Surprise! I’m sorry, but just think writers need to find some different dramatic situations for Pride to be involved in besides making him obsessive. Let his gentle and empathetic side show up sometimes too. Saw the first episode again last week on syndication, and I do miss that Pride as well. Although I love what Bakula does with the intense emotions, and I love Pride and #ScottBakula any way I can get him!?
