Ink Master: Angels preview: Tattoo Tracy, Tai Viper, Mecca face off

Ink Master: Angels

Tuesday night’s Ink Master: Angels is going to be heading down to New Orleans, and with that comes a very unique tattooing flavor. You’ll see what some of that is when you catch the episode itself, but for now CarterMatt has a sneak peek of some of what’s coming up plus a look at the three artists.

Given that the Big Easy has so much personality, it only makes sense that this is also reflected in the contestants you’re going to see battle it out this week.

Tattoo Tracy – He’s got more experience than the other two artists do by far, but he admits that he’s been tattooing very differently since becoming sober five years beforehand. He’s a family man who can do a wide range of styles but for the sake of this first challenge (which is all about doing a two-hour tattoo in the difficult spot of the knee ditch) he chooses to do an image of a realistic owl.

Tai Viper – Before getting into anything else about this guy, we should just comment on how TURNT UP he is. We’re not sure that we’ve seen anyone this season so confident and so aggressive to remind everyone of how amazing he is. He’s making it so much harder on himself to earn the judges’ favor, but you can see during this challenge that he has potential.

Mecca – She’s got an interesting background coming to America and discovering the art of tattoo, but beyond that she’s an artist who wants to do new and interesting things with tattooing. We’re not sure that we would attach a single specialty to her, and that’s something that we haven’t seen all that much of this season.

Overall, this is going to be a good competition throughout the episode — we won’t spoil the winner for the challenge for you here, but it shouldn’t be all that much of a surprise based on the overall quality of the work you see here. The format is the same as every other episode — the winning artist of the top three will end up fighting one of the Angels for a chance to make it onto season 10.
