Would Matt Iseman take part in Big Brother: Celebrity Edition?

Matt IsemanMatt Iseman is best known as the co-host of American Ninja Warrior but if you read CarterMatt, you may also know him as a diehard Big Brother fan, as well. He was present at the same Big Brother live eviction taping as us this past season, and we included him on our own personal wishlist for Big Brother: Celebrity Edition. It is hard to find celebrity contestants who would know the North American format of the game, and as a result of that we of course think it’d be great to have him in there.

So does this translate to him actually taking part? We’ve always said that it would be hard for him to do this given that he’s a part of a show on a rival network, and that’s something that he confirms in a new interview with Twinger Talk (see below):

“I’m not sure I could do Big Brother. A) I’m not sure NBC would let me, but B) I watch that show and the psychological games that go on there. I love to watch them, but I’m not sure I could [play with them].”

Iseman goes on to say that one of the things that aided him on The Celebrity Apprentice (which aired last year) was that he was able to concentrate on each individual task; on Big Brother that’s a little more challenging since you have to be thinking about both the week-to-week game and the long-term game at the same time. It’s a heck of a lot that you have to take on constantly and it’s more than any sane person should want to do deal with. You have to be either a devious mastermind, a diehard fan of the show, or crazy to want to be a part of Big Brother. Maybe it’s all of the above. As someone who loves both his enthusiasm and Harry Potter obsession it’d be easy to cheer for Matt if he was in the house. Same goes for former SNL cast member and Big Brother fan Bobby Moynihan if he is cast.

We know that casting is ongoing for Big Brother: Celebrity Edition but as we’ve said many times now, a lot of the rumors out there are probably overblown. We’ll start to believe more of the discussions we’re hearing in January, not when the show is still a good two months from coming on the air.
