Curb Your Enthusiasm season 10 could happen — and with shorter break
At the moment, though, it appears that there are some internal discussions about what a season 10 would look like. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly following the finale, show executive producer Jeff Schaffer made some of his thoughts clear:
“There can only be a new season if Larry feels creatively like he’s got the ideas. Personally, I wouldn’t bet on him never getting in another awkward situation, would you? We are talking about talking about it. I promise if we do it again, it won’t be as long of a wait.”
One of the things that you do have to remember here is that it’s important to take a never-say-never approach with this show. For example, even if David did come out and say that he didn’t have any ideas for a season 10 he could still come back with some years later.
Personally, we think that the motivation is there for him to return for more for one major reason: Trying to up the ante. While there were many funny moments on Curb Your Enthusiasm this season and we personally feel as though some of the Hamilton-themed stuff in the finale was genius (read our full take on that over here), the critics were not altogether kind to the season as a whole. A part of that may just be due to adjusted expectations. We’ve all changed as viewers since the show first premiered and maybe there was too much of an expectation that Curb Your Enthusiasm would change as a show to go along with it. That didn’t happen, and instead we were left with a series that, by and large, is pretty similar to the one that first premiered ages ago. Either we have to go into season 10 with that sentiment in mind or Curb Your Enthusiasm itself has to find some ways to evolve.
