Shameless season 8 episode 6 preview: Big Emmy Rossum episode coming

Shameless season 8 episode 6

When Shameless season 8 episode 6 airs on Showtime in a week’s time, there is a chance that it could get you emotional. After all, Emmy Rossum will take on some of the darkest, most reflective material since she first signed up for the show in the early going.

CarterMatt has the full Shameless season 8 episode 6 synopsis below, and this serves as a worthy jumping-off point to everything else that we are going to discuss here:

Fiona is forced to reflect on her own life after a lonely tenant dies and the duty of cleaning out the apartment falls upon her. Meanwhile, Debbie has a pregnancy scare and winds up in a compromising position, Lip enlists Carl’s help to search for his sponsor and Frank enjoys having his first-ever credit card.

We feel for Fiona mightily in this situation because she’s having to do something that would be hard on just about anyone — look at the mistakes of someone else and wonder if this is a reflection of their own. Few people want to end their lives lonely; they want a legacy, and she may be starting to wonder if she’s done enough after many failed relationships. While she has a more stable work life than most other Gallaghers, that is only going to go so far.

As for Frank having his first-ever credit card, that is probably going to be where most of the enjoyment comes in this episode. After all, most signs point towards this being an absolute hoot and something we’re going to thoroughly enjoy seeing play out throughout the hour — and also probably down the road. We have zero confidence in this man’s ability to use something like this responsibly. Our confidence lies more in him finding a way to bungle this completely and go completely out-of-control with the spending.

One other thing to be advised of — while Shameless is a series with a near-constant tendency to be off the rails, the midway point of a season tends to be when things start to really careen in all sorts of crazy directions. We’re going to go ahead and predict that’s coming up.
