What’s new on Netflix for December 2017: Fuller House, The Crown, Bill Nye, and more
What’s new on Netflix for December 2017? From the TV perspective, there’s quite a bit! The holiday season is a golden time for Netflix users given that many people have time off for the holidays and use that time to binge-watch shows to their heart’s content.
Below are some of the shows that you should really keep your eyes peeled for. Note that some of these are originals to the service, whereas others are acquisitions that are still worth your time.
December 1
Dark season 1 (Netflix original) – The German-language series is described as: “A missing child sets four families on a frantic hunt for answers as they unearth a mind-bending mystery that spans three generations.”
Easy season 2 (Netflix original) – The diverse, Chicago-set anthology series will return with a realistic and entertaining look at the lives of some people in the Windy City.
Turn: Washington’s Spies season 4 – The final season of the incredible AMC spy epic — the series finale is one of the best of its kind in 2017.
December 8
The Crown season 2 (Netflix original) – The historical drama re-enters the awards-show circuit with a lavish season 2. Claire Foy and Matt Smith finish their run as Elizabeth and Philip.
December 11
The Magicians season 2 – Syfy’s engrossing and often underrated series premieres on Netflix just in time to get you ready for season 3 in the new year.
December 14
Halt and Catch Fire season 4 – Watch this AMC show’s final season and tell us that Lee Pace doesn’t deserve all of the awards love in the world.
December 15
The Ranch Part 4 (a.k.a. season 2B, Netflix original) – While the Ashton Kutcher series has its creative merits, the accusations against star Danny Masterson are putting an enormous cloud over its release.
December 19
The Indian Detective season 1 – The Canadian import stars Russell Peters, a man who has never found the audience stateside he deserves.
December 21
Peaky Blinders season 4 – The British import returns to Netflix with more stories to enjoy.
December 22
Fuller House season 3B (Netflix original) – One of the streaming provider’s most-popular shows is back for more!
December 25
Planet Earth II – Celebrate Christmas with one of the most beautiful nature documentary series of all time.
December 26
If you have kids, this is a date to watch — Netflix is creating New Year’s Eve countdown videos featuring many of their animated shows. Be on the lookout.
December 29
Bill Nye Saves the World season 2 part 1 (Netflix original) – This is where Bill Nye tries to save the world from the first season of the show. Zing! We do love Mr. Nye and his legacy, but he needs to gravitate more towards his original Bill Nye the Science Guy format and away from the talk-show format with an audience.
