Arrow season 6 midseason finale preview: Katie Cassidy returns as Black Siren

Arrow season 6 midseason finale

The Arrow season 6 midseason finale will be coming to The CW a week from Thursday, and it goes without saying that this episode will be different than most. The title is “Irreconcilable Differences,” and judging from the information we have at the moment one thing feels reasonably clear: We’re going to see the focus put on some characters who weren’t altogether prominent in the Crisis on Earth-X crossover.

The Arrow season 6 midseason finale synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below reveals that Quentin Lance is going to be at the center of the hour as both Black Siren and Cayden James team up in order to utilize him. They’ve got a much larger scheme in mind:

BLACK SIREN KIDNAPS LANCE – Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) is kidnaped by Black Siren (Katie Cassidy) and Cayden James (guest star Michael Emerson), who are looking to trade Lance’s life for a weapon of mass destruction. Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Team Green Arrow must figure out a way to save Lance while still keeping the city safe. Laura Belsey directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Sarah Tarkoff (#609). Original airdate 12/7/2017.

We will say that we’re very much worried for Lance’s future much in the way we always are. Paul Blackthorne has found a way to persevere through a number of tragedies that have befallen his character over time, and we don’t quite think that this one is going to be any different. It’s actually so much worse since Black Siren is a version of his daughter from another Earth and the two already have such a storied history. He had an opportunity in order to kill her at the end of season 5, but that didn’t happen and it was eventually Cayden and his people who bailed them out.

After this episode, Arrow will be on hiatus until most likely January. The CW does have a tradition of resuming many of their shows in mid-January, but they could opt to shake up their schedule slightly with Winter Olympics in mind. It’s already been confirmed that this is going to be impacting a number of other shows on other networks.
