Outlander season 3 episode 12 preview: The quest to save Young Ian, Jamie

Outlander season 3 episode 12

Outlander season 3 episode 12 is entitled “The Bakra,” and it also just so happens to be the penultimate one of the entire season. After this installment airs there is just one more left, and then Droughtlander resumes once more from now until presumably next fall at the earliest.

Let’s not think about such pain for now — instead, let’s look ahead towards what should be an especially interesting episode given that for the first time since season 2, Jamie and Claire are going to find themselves at a lavish ball! The goal here seems to be twofold — making sure that Jamie does not find himself arrested at the hands of Captain Leonard and the crew of the Porpoise, and then also our heroes doing everything that they can in order to rescue Young Ian. The poor man has been captured ever since being back in Scotland and we imagine that he has quite a few stories to tell.

Below, CarterMatt has for you the full Outlander season 3 episode 12 synopsis:

The Artemis finally reaches Jamaica bringing Jamie and Claire that much closer to their goal. During a lavish ball on the island, the Frasers encounter old allies, as well as former adversaries who threaten to derail their mission.

Whatever happens at this ball will of course lead over to the finale, and that in turn is going to lead over to Outlander season 4 next year. That season is set in North Carolina as opposed to the Caribbean, so expect some movement in these final two episodes to bring the story closer to that end goal. The show continues to morph and change, and that is a big part of what makes it so exciting!

Also, we’re hoping that one of the “old allies” that Jamie and Claire encounter while at the ball is someone who was a big part of the story earlier this season and written out of a scene in which they appear in the books during episode 3×10. You may know where we’re going with this…
