Outlander season 3 episode 11 review: Did Claire, Jamie reunite in ‘Uncharted’?
Luckily, that changed close to the halfway point of “Uncharted” when Claire heard the good news while on the island with her new “friends,” Father Fogden / 18th century version of Tom Hanks in Cast Away and Mamacita — Mr. Willoughby was on the island! Okay, he wasn’t referred to by name, but she clearly aware it was him. This caused her to embark on a sprint over to lure the Artemis back to land. She did that, and as a result of it she and Jamie are now finally back together! It was another struggle, but after many bad breaks this time it appears as though the character finally had some luck on her side.
Did Claire and Jamie celebrate their reunion? We’d say so, as it involved a little bit of Mr. Willoughby’s turtle soup, some playful banter, and … well, let’s just say that many fans were probably happy with the scene at the end of the episode. While many Outlander installments rip out your heart and stomp on it, “Uncharted” ended on a relatively happy note. This should be enough to make you forget, at least temporarily, that Captain Leonard and the crew of the Porpoise are still out to arrest Jamie the moment that he steps foot in Jamaica in the weeks to come.
While also on the island, Claire and Jamie did take advantage of her newfound contact Father Fogden to ask about one other thing — ensuring that the wedding took place between Marsali and Fergus. Fergus was officially coined a Fraser by Jamie in exchange for all of his work and effort, and now he has fulfilled the promise that he made when locked up on this past episode.
When you actually think about it, “Uncharted” may be one of the lightest and shortest episodes of the season in terms of content. Much of the opening was spent with Claire stumbling through some beautiful island vistas before coming across Father Fogden and Mamacita. Meanwhile, from there it was about her convincing Fogden that she was well enough to make the trip to Jamaica via a fisherman’s boat. After that, we had the big reunion, the marriage of Marsali and Fergus, and then a little bit of turtle soup to finish it off.
CarterMatt Verdict
A fun episode for the most part — it wasn’t too heavy, but we do think that the Jamaica storyline should set the stage for some drama to come. Visually this episode was a stunner and we continue to give all the credit in the world to Caitriona Balfe for anchoring the entirety of this episode with all of Claire’s highs and lows.

Really enjoyed episode 11. Loved Claire and Coco, but all those ants (Yuk). The wedding of Fergus and Marsali was heartwarming, especially when Jamie gave Fergus his name. I disagree it was done for all his work and effort. It was done because Jamie loves Fergus and has called him son for many years and, of course, he needed a surname to be married.
