Outlander season 4 filming continues on Thanksgiving week, and in cold conditions!

Outlander season 4 filming

While it may be Thanksgiving and now Black Friday here in America, it’s important to remember that in Scotland, things are a bit different. That is why Outlander season 4 filming has continued throughout the week while so many of us are coming down from pounds of turkey, pie and the momentarily adrenaline rush that comes with snagging a super-good Black Friday sale.

Outlander has been working on the second block of episodes (episodes 3 and 4, presumably) in Scotland, and as we get a little bit closer to winter the conditions are worsening to go along with it. Just in case you needed a little more insight on just how cold it is there, the tweets below via stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan are proof! The conditions are freezing but the two actors are pressing on alongside a pretty intrepid crew, who is willing to deal with whatever is thrown at them in order to get the right shot or the optimal sound quality.

As for what’s going on for Jamie and Claire in these scenes … CarterMatt wants to be a little more cautious and keep things general. Season 4 of the series features these two characters in America, where they are starting their lives in a new place surrounded by some new people. One of the things that is the most intriguing about the fourth season is getting an opportunity to see Jamie and Claire in the same place for a while, and building a stable home together as opposed to just running from one place to the next after dealing with assorted threats. They’ve been to Scotland, France, Jamaica soon, and eventually they’re going to be in 18th-century America — granted, Claire has already been to America, but it’s Boston in a different time period.

If you’re interested in getting some official photos for Outlander season 4, you’re probably going to be waiting for quite a while still. Even though much of the fandom knows what is happening story-wise and even where the show is filming, Starz still wants to cater to the casual viewers who aren’t as familiar with the source material.

Also, there’s another simple question to ponder: Why spend a ton of time promoting the future when you still have the present to think about? Have we seen some photos from the Outlander set? Sure, but it’s CarterMatt policy to not share any images unless they come from an authorized source — think in terms of someone who works on the show or via Starz.
