Luke Cage season 2 filming wraps — the wait continues
For those of you excited to see Luke Cage season 2 coming at some point in the future, you can now cross off another box — filming is now complete!
The wrap party for the Netflix show was held a few days ago, which means that the progress to get the Mike Colter series back on the air now enters the next key phase: Post-production. This is where the episodes can be edited together and everything can be perfected in order to ensure that the episodes are as great as humanly possible.
What this also does for us is confirm even more that Luke Cage season 2 is going to be coming on the air at some point in 2018. This is looking like it’ll be another big year for all of the Marvel series on Netflix coming up, especially since there is another season of Jessica Jones on the horizon, plus more of Daredevil and also Iron Fist. Are we going to get a second season of The Punisher? Probably, but that doesn’t seem to be coming up any time soon since the first season just came out.
The long-term life of all of these shows is something that will be interesting to watch given that they’re scheduled out so differently than many other typical superhero shows out there. We are confident that we’ll get at least one more cycle of all of the shows plus another season of The Defenders, but beyond that nothing is altogether clear. Marvel has its arms in many different pools now, especially with the upcoming Disney streaming service. Marvel is going to focus the development of some of its new streaming properties over there — back when there were discussions of the company buying 21st Century Fox, we wondered if we were going to see a Fantastic Four series or something like that on the platform.
