In a new post on Instagram (see below), you can see what Adams had to say about taking off the suit one last time as his character. It’s a fun post that’s symbolic of the journey, and what is likely going to be the end of it. There are reports out there that he and co-star Meghan Markle are leaving in tandem, and that may make some sense given that the two are an item on the show as Mike and Rachel Zane. Having one of them leave without the other would probably be a little more difficult than ending this any other way.
The question that you’re left to wonder here is simple: How do they leave the show? There are only six more episodes featuring them and no indication one way or another as to how the story could wrap up for the two of them. If we were to have some sort of preference, though, it would go along the lines of this: Find a way to write Mike out of the show that follows his agenda of trying to do good for other people, and have Rachel realize how great the merits are in joining him. Mike’s frustration ever since coming out of prison is finding a way to do some great pro-bono work to go alongside taking on big clients with the help of Harvey. Maybe he finds a way to do this that takes him far out of New York City and gives both he and Rachel an entirely new life. (There is a part of us, regardless of if it’s right, that likes to imagine that Suits is actually set in Toronto just because it’s filmed there.)
Will Suits remain on the air without Markle and Adams? While not 100% confirmed as of yet, this seems to be the intention of show creator Aaron Korsh. If this happens, it would mean that Gabriel Macht (Harvey), Sarah Rafferty (Donna), and Rick Hoffman (Louis) are the only three regulars who have been on the show from the beginning.
