The Good Doctor episode 9 preview: A humanitarian effort
One of the reasons why this show is off to a great start, and also why the ratings to date are so strong, is because of the unique balance between characters and medical cases. On tonight’s episode, you are getting a chance to see a story that is going to be very personal to Shaun because of what he’s going through at a grocery store. Next week we’re seeing that change again because of a case that is arriving to the hospital independently of him. Yet, it’s also going to have some pretty powerful ramifications of its own.
Want a little more news on the subject of this episode? Then we suggest taking a look at the Good Doctor episode 9 synopsis below:
As part of St. Bonaventure hospital’s international humanitarian program, the team takes on the case of a young boy from the Congo who has severe congenital heart anomalies. Dr. Neil Melendez has doubts about the safety of the procedure, while Dr. Shaun Murphy works out the best course of action. Meanwhile, Murphy’s latest encounter with his neighbor Lea has him confused.
We are getting close to the end of the first half of this season, and what that hopefully means is that we’re going to get some more welcome opportunities to see Shaun grow as a character — his interactions with Lea are going to be a great venue for that.
What we’re worried about
Let’s just make this rather clear: We are concerned that the show’s ratings are going to be down when the show returns because of the lack of Dancing with the Stars. We’re almost not sure as to why ABC is choosing to do this instead of just holding off on putting the show back on the air until after The Bachelor.
The only possible explanation that we have? The network wants to launch something else once The Good Doctor is done with its 18-episode run this season. That way, they can try to make the most of this timeslot.
