Supergirl season 3 episode 8 preview: Citizen Cold and ‘Crisis on Earth-X’

Supergirl season 2 episode 8

Supergirl season 3 episode 8 airing on The CW next week is not going to be your ordinary episode; it’s the start of the Crisis On Earth-X crossover event.

For those of you who are wanting more of a story about Samantha/Reign and everything else happening on the Supergirl Earth, you are probably going to be disappointed. After all, this event is bringing Kara and Alex over to Earth-1 to celebrate the wedding of Barry and Iris. This event is mostly a celebration of The Flash and Arrow, the two longest-running shows out there, based on some of the promotional material that exists. It’s a little hard for Supergirl to get more time in the limelight since her Earth is so separate from some of the others. It would be nice to see more characters eventually make their way over there, but it is probably also a little more difficult.

Below, the Supergirl season 3 episode 8 synopsis details some more news regarding what is coming:

Barry (guest star Grant Gustin) and Iris’s (guest star Candice Patton) wedding brings the gang together, but things go awry when villains from Earth-X attack the ceremony. All of the superheroes band together with help from their super friends like Citizen Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller), The Ray (guest star Russell Tovey), Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), Iris West and Alex Danvers (guest star Chyler Leigh) to take on their most formidable villains yet. Earth’s mightiest heroes – Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist), The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin) and White Canary (guest star Caity Lotz) – lead their teams into battle to save the world.

The trailer fills in some of the cracks. Earth-X is the mysterious 53rd world in the multiverse, one where the Nazis won World War II and all villains are a part of that army. Citizen Cold is apparently, per the video, one of the heroes on that world and he is going to come over in an attempt to help. (This could be the last appearance of Wentworth Miller across the entire DC – CW universe, so be prepared for that in advance.)

As you can see in the photo above, there are a lot of heroes who are going to be around in order to help. When you think about the sheer numbers, it really doesn’t seem like Earth-X doesn’t stand much of a chance.
