Dancing with the Stars 26 cast, premiere date discussion
For the time being, information is fairly limited beyond the fact that it is in fact happening. Show host Tom Bergeron is certain to return, as will presumably the judging panel. We do worry here and there about the future for one Len Goodman on the series, but for the time being it does feel as though he’s sticking with the show for at least another season. Julianne Hough constantly pops in and out, but we don’t get the sense that she is going to be returning to the series as a full-time judge in the immediate future.
As for possibly celebrity contenders, anyone who claims to actually know this for sure is probably lying. There are probably a list of about 15-20 names who ABC asks to be a part of the show on an almost-annual basis, and these are probably some people who will be asked to take part in the show yet again this time. Beyond that, though, there are a few other names that will be considered as producers get closer to the date. The reality here is that the premiere of the show is still far away, and as a result of that we don’t exactly think that anyone is going to be in all that much of a hurry in order to cast it. Producers tend to go here based on who is popular in the now as opposed to who’s popular in the months leading up to it.
One thing we would probably say is that you can expect some current NFL players to be considered — the new season of Dancing with the Stars is likely going to premiere in March and by that time all football stars are going to be in the off-season. It’s also possible in theory that a Winter Olympian or two could be considered, though it would be an incredibly quick turnaround. This is for the Olympians who really want to make the most of their time in the spotlight — there are few platforms out there that are bigger than the games!
