Blue Bloods season 8 episode 9 spoilers: ‘Pain Killers’ will be big Baez episode

Blue Bloods season 8 episode 9 airing on December 1 carries with it the title of “Pain Killers.” Beyond that, it will bring a big Baez story to the table. Marisa Ramirez is at times one of the show’s unsung heroes — she’s a key part of Danny Reagan’s success as his partner, but she often doesn’t get a lot of the same praise from the NYPD or get the same spotlights on the show. (Given that this is effectively a story about the Reagan family, that obviously makes a certain degree of sense.)

Over the course of Blue Bloods season 8 episode 9, some of that will change — she will have a spotlight put on her, but a big part of that is due to the fact that her life is in jeopardy. Take a look at the synopsis CarterMatt has for you below for more information as to what’s coming up next:

“Pain Killers” – As Danny and Baez join a narcotics task force to track down a drug supplier, Baez comes into contact with drugs and is soon fighting for her life from an accidental overdose. Also, Jamie and Eddie work to protect a rehabilitated sex offender whose neighbors are angry he lives in their apartment building, and Frank forms an unlikely alliance with Mayor Dutton, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, Dec. 1 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

How can Danny help with a situation like this? It’s going to be tough for him, given that this is not your typical medical crisis. Baez is facing some serious jeopardy because of something that was never meant to happen and Danny’s not a doctor. All he happens to be is someone who cares about her and, in turn, someone who will probably go the extra mile to ensure that this gets resolved.

Beyond the Danny – Baez story within this episode, it should prove interesting to see what Frank’s alliance with the Mayor ends up looking like. Dutton may not actually appear in the flesh during the episode (Lorraine Bracco wasn’t listed on the press release), but she has so many people working under her that she always remains a part of the story.
