SWAT episode 3 preview: Is Street getting fired — already?

SWAT episode 3

SWAT episode 3 is coming to CBS next week, and apparently Jim Street is already finding himself in plenty of trouble. He just joined the elite squad in the pilot, and not long after that he showed a habit for causing trouble and not following rules. A little bit of a wild side can go a long way in the right situation, but here’s the thing — when you’re working with a SWAT team, there really aren’t too many situations that are good for that kind of personality. More often than not, you are being thrown into situations where you need to follow protocol. Your life often depends on it, let alone the lives of some of the people that are working with you.

Next week SWAT episode 3 is going to address more of what happens in the event that Street does go somewhat rogue, and gets his mother involved in a way that he really shouldn’t. Take a look at the synopsis CarterMatt has for you below:

“Pamilya” – Newcomer Jim Street jeopardizes his spot on Hondo’s team when he agrees to do a favor for his incarcerated mother that endangers his SWAT career. Also, the SWAT team searches for the ruthless mastermind behind a drug trafficking ring that forces immigrants to be mules, on S.W.A.T., Thursday, Nov. 16 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Sherilyn Fenn guest stars as Karen Street, Jim Street’s mother.

It’s easy to understand why Street would want to do something like this. It was revealed over tonight’s episode that the character had a rough childhood and grew up without his mother for the majority of it. He wants to find ways to connect with her and the insecurity that he feels may be in part one of the reasons that he acts the way that he does. If you really want to explore the psychology of this character we feel as though this has to be a part of what makes him tick.

Unfortunately, if he wants to be a part of this unit, he will need to learn how to focus himself as a part of a team. It may not be easy, but it is absolutely essential.
