Supernatural season 13 episode 6 preview: Dean’s Wild West showdown

While there are some episodes that are certainly serious, Supernatural season 13 episode 6 seems to be more of a hoot. This episode, entitled “Tombstone,” seems to be right up our alley when thinking about the sort of stories that we often want to see on this show. Think along the lines of a fun story-of-the-week plot that is going to be crazy, funny, feature a cool setting, and give us a chance to see a little bit of odd Winchester wish fulfillment.

GO AHEAD… MAKE MY DAY – Castiel (Misha Collins) is reunited with Jack (Alexander Calvert) and together with Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles), they head to a sleepy old western town to investigate a murder. Dean gets to live out his boyhood fantasy when he comes face to face with a famous, gun-slinging outlaw. Nina Lopez-Corrado directed the episode written by Davy Perez (#1306). Original airdate 11/16/2017.

This episode is going to give us a chance to see a little bit of an Old West feel, and some stories and characters that are indicative of that. We suppose that what makes this story a little bit different is that we are going to see four characters taking part in this story as opposed to just two — sure, we do still have the Winchesters, but at the same time we’ve also got Castiel and Jack thrown in.

It’s not often that we say that we hope an episode is just silly fun in advance, but we really do feel that way here. Supernatural has taken on some dark storylines over the past season and a half and we’d be down to just engage in some good, silly stories for a few weeks that allow the writers to let their imaginations run wild a little. We’re also glad to have Misha Collins back with the core group again — there were a few fateful moments at the end of last season when we worried that he may not actually come back.
