Designated Survivor season 2 spoilers: Kiefer Sutherland, Kim Raver reunite
Per a new report coming in via TVLine, Raver is going to be appearing a little bit later this season on the ABC show as Andrea Frost, a woman who the casting notice compares in some ways to Elon Musk. She’s an incredible engineer and innovator constantly pushing for the next big thing. She’s the sort of person who has the vision necessary to change the world and some of the resources that are necessary to actually go through with it. There is a lot to like about this character if she ends up being an ally to President Kirkman — we’ve come to learn on this show over the years that there is no guarantee of that coming to fruition.
Raver previously played Audrey for several seasons on 24, and in that time she had a very important connection to Sutherland’s Jack Bauer. We won’t spoil what happens to her character in the end on 24: Live Another Day other than saying that this is not what we expected to see happen to her. CarterMatt does wonder if this recurring role for Raver could turn into more, but there are some other issues that probably need to be addressed here with the show first — including turning its struggling ratings around to ensure that it gets a third season.
Raver is coming off of an extended arc on Grey’s Anatomy, where she reprised her previous role of Teddy. What this new casting does effectively mean is that her arc on the ABC show has an end date — that’s not too much of a shock, given that she was mostly brought in because of the Megan Hunt character and with Megan now away from Seattle, her story is largely over. (Unfortunately, this is bad news for those of you who ‘ship Teddy with Owen, who recently ended his marriage to Amelia in what was a mutual decision.)
