Scorpion season 4: LeVar Burton directing episode

If you’re going to get any well-known performer to direct a Scorpion season 4 episode, there are few people better than LeVar Burton. The former Star Trek: The Next Generation actor is the sort of person that some members of Team Scorpion idolize — especially Sylvester. Imagine if Sylvester met LeVar in person in this weird fictional world — CarterMatt figures it’d be somewhat similar to when Troy Barnes met him in Community.

Burton himself confirmed that he is directing an episode in a post on Twitter — Previously, he directed two episodes of NCIS: New Orleans and there’s a bit of a Star Trek connection there given that he has directed Scott Bakula over on Star Trek: Enterprise as well.

Would we love to actually see LeVar appear in one of these episodes in the future? Absolutely, especially since we’d like to see him on TV more than we do these days. Nonetheless, it’s a thrill to know that he’s behind the camera as well. As you can probably tell from reading this article our love for LeVar is probably pretty similar to how we think Sylvester would feel about him.

Note that while the Twitter posts suggests that Burton is directing the twelfth episode this season, remember that this is not necessarily the twelfth episode that is going to air. Sometimes things tend to be swapped out with some of these shows, especially one like Scorpion that is largely procedural and you don’t necessarily have to air episodes sequentially.

Where are we right now in Scorpion?

For those of you who haven’t been in the loop this season and want to try and catch up, here’s the break down: The relationship between Walter and Paige is still going strong, though there are some communication issues that the two have and are routinely trying to tackle. Meanwhile, Happy and Toby are interested in starting a family and Cabe is still trying to find a way to keep himself out of prison.

While the majority of this show is about the mission of the week, there are a few interesting storylines that are worth watching on an episodic basis. Hopefully, that’s enough of a reason to convince some of you to watch live who aren’t. This is a show that could benefit from a ratings bump this season — it’s not getting much in the way of help from its lead-ins and it also have a big-time challenge right now because it’s airing against The Good Doctor.
