Chicago PD season 5 episode 7 preview: Big story for Jesse Lee Soffer’s Halstead

When Chicago PD season 5 episode 7 airs on NBC next week, Jesse Lee Soffer is going to get a lot of screen time. This could be one of the biggest Jay Halstead storylines of the season, one that forces him to dive into some of his past before he was in the police department.

11/15/2017 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : HALSTEAD GOES UNDERCOVER TO STOP AN EX-MILITARY KIDNAPPING CREW FROM KILLING AN INNOCENT CHILD. In the wake of several gang-related child abductions, Intelligence must race against time to find a kidnapped boy. Owing to their swiftness and military precision, the team scours the VA records and tracks the suspects to a former Army Ranger. With his previous experience as a Ranger, Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) convinces Voight (Jason Beghe) to send him undercover to try and get information from inside. Also starring Jon Seda, Patrick John Flueger, Elias Koteas, Marina Squerciati, LaRoyce Hawkins, Amy Morton and Tracy Spiridakos. Guest starring Anabelle Acosta, Mykelti Williamson and Carlos Miranda.

The best part of this is probably learning that Halstead is going undercover. Who doesn’t love a good undercover mission on Chicago PD? There isn’t a better person for the job under these circumstances and this should be a great test for Jay when it comes to seeing where his mental state is at the moment.

There are some reasons to be fairly worried about Jay. For one, he’s a man struggling in the aftermath of losing Lindsay from his life — he may not have mentioned it much as of late, but this shouldn’t be taken as some sort of sign that he’s okay. Beyond that, this is a Chicago PD that is still very much in the midst of change and reform. The more that the department is watched like a hawk, the more dangerous it could be for some of these characters.
