Outlander notes: Sam Heughan’s favorite season; teases of the voyage ahead
Sam Heughan’s favorite season – In what shouldn’t come as too big of a shock given the wide array of stuff he’s getting to do, this is his favorite season. In a new feature with Esquire (a rather cool one in which he talks about his sense of style and his Barbour fashion line) he explains in a little more detail as to why doing the show this season stands out amidst the pack:
“We’ve been working on it for four years, and it’s just amazing. This is my favorite season, probably because there’s a lot of Jamie in it. But every episode is different. It’s given me so many great opportunities. It really comes down to the fans; they’ve supported us, they’ve guided us, and they’ve given us their opinions. It’s amazing.”
Given what’s coming up next, there is only going to be more variety ahead — Jamie and Claire are heading out to sea!
More all about the voyage
We know that Young Ian was captured at the end of this past episode, and based on the fact that his captors had a ship, it shouldn’t come as much of a shock that Jamie and Claire are going to board a ship with rescuing him in mind.
This sentiment is something confirmed by John Bell, who said the following about it to TV Guide:
“Young Ian is the catalyst for it all as you see. What I can tease is that he’s going to somebody. Somebody has plans for him and those plans aren’t good plans. He’s in a lot of trouble when he arrives at his location. You won’t hear from him so we’ll see who’ got him in the end, but it’s not looking pretty, that’s for sure.”

It’s just the smallest of teases of life at sea, but know that more are coming very soon!
