Law & Order: SVU season 19 episode 7 spoilers: Olivia’s past comes to light

Law & Order: SVU season 19 episode 7 is an episode that you better have a certain degree of patience to see. There is a new episode airing on NBC this Wednesday, but following that the show is taking a pretty serious hiatus until after the Thanksgiving Holiday. It is going to be back come Wednesday, November 29 with an installment entitled “Something Happened” and based on every indication that we have, there are going to be plenty of big events coming up!

Benson must disclose the secrets of her past to help a rape victim (guest star Melora Walters) recall the details of one terrible, traumatic night. Also starring Ice T (Det. Odafin Tutuola), Kelli Giddish (Det. Amanda Rollins), Raúl Esparza (ADA Rafael Barba) and Peter Scanavino (Det. Sonny Carisi). Also guest starring Joanna Going (Leah Linwood), Crystal T. Johnson (Meg) and Ryan Buggle (Noah Porter-Benson).

Despite thing being the nineteenth season of the show and there being such a huge array of different subjects that have been explored over the years, diving into Olivia Benson’s past is not something that we have had all that many opportunities to do. One of the big reasons for that is probably because unless it’s a cold case, so much of what we get in the show comes courtesy of a given moment in the present. What should be interesting about this episode is that it allows for an opportunity to augment that format slightly and give us a chance to see and understand more of how Olivia’s past ends up becoming a big part of the story in the present.

Is there another storyline happening here?

For the record, NBC is not saying much about this, but we wonder just how long the arc for Brooke Shields as Noah’s grandmother is going to last? One of the things that has been revealed already about this storyline is that on Wednesday night, we could be seeing Olivia have a few more doubts regarding Sheila and her intentions. Once we get a chance to see some of this story play out there will be more opportunities to understand where the remainder of the story goes from here. Maybe that’s the end for her, or maybe there are many more stories to come.
